It`s no secret that shopping for a Mother of the Bride/Groom dress is VERY tricky, especially in this area. Skagit county just doesnt have the brick and mortars that we need and of course online shopping can be a nightmare.
Here are a couple tricks for the mothers out there.
1. Let the sales staff help you, have an open mind and try things on.
2. When ordering online, check the return policy
3. Avoid Amazon, Lulus, JJ House, and Azazie. These dresses tend to have fit issues and are made out of cheaper fabric. Those issues can be avoided with alterations but it`s hard to determine if the dress needs alterations or if the dresses isn`t right for you without a professional opinion. Instead, check out brands like Adrianna Papell, R&M Richards, Mac Duggal and Betsy & Adam. These brands, although more expensive, fit better.
4. Speaking of alterations, regardless of what brand your dress is, most women need at least a hem and a strap adjustment.
